Our Approach to Science

In our school, science is seen as the exploration of the biological, chemical, and physical aspects of the natural world, and the relationships between these aspects. As the world changes and evolves, our understanding of science also evolves. Science enables learners to evaluate the world from a scientific perspective and become more aware. It encourages curiosity and creativity, helping students understand the world around them. In this way, it aims to develop a sense of responsibility in students regarding the impact of their actions on the world.

Our school actively supports students' participation in various scientific competitions and events to help them develop their scientific discoveries and skills. Participation in scientific competitions and events not only supports students' academic achievements but also their personal development. Students who take part in these activities increase their interest in science and innovation, thereby laying a solid foundation for their future academic and professional success.

Science and Technology Laboratory

Our school’s laboratory is a learning environment where scientific experiments and observations are conducted, tests are performed on variables, conclusions are drawn, and results are reported, following the steps of scientific research.
Laboratory work is carried out as a fixed activity in collaboration with class and subject teachers, based on the concepts of inquiry in the units for the preparatory class, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. Students report their findings through drawings or writing, depending on their level.
Laboratory work helps develop students' critical thinking skills. The process of solving problems and testing hypotheses in experiments enhances their ability to think analytically and draw logical conclusions. This not only strengthens their scientific knowledge but also improves their ability to solve problems in daily life.
In addition, laboratory work fosters the development of students' collaboration and communication skills. Group experiments encourage students to work together, share different ideas, and develop solutions by considering each other's viewpoints. This process reinforces important personal skills such as teamwork, shared responsibility, and leadership.
Laboratories also help students develop personal qualities such as patience, attention to detail, and focus. In order for experiments to succeed, each step must be applied correctly, which helps students develop disciplined and organized work habits. These experiences transform students into more responsible, analytical, collaborative, and creative individuals.

Extracurricular Activities to Make Science Sustainable

Extracurricular Activities to Make Science Sustainable

Fentastik Science Days: Each year, a week is organized under a specific theme, where students carry out individual or collaborative projects, conduct demonstration experiments, host guest speakers, watch documentaries and cartoons, and participate in a variety of activities tailored to different levels.

Excursions: Field trips are organized in alignment with the content of inquiry units, providing opportunities for students to explore and discover. At the same time, these excursions allow students to gain hands-on experience in various scientific fields. For example, during a nature trip, students can reinforce the knowledge they have learned about ecosystems by directly observing them. Such experiences help students explore much more than the abstract and theoretical aspects of science, guiding them to understand the role of science in everyday life.

Guest Speakers: The guest speakers who visit our school make a significant contribution to enriching our students' educational experience. As professionals and scientists specializing in different fields, they provide students with real-world examples that reinforce their learning. These visits offer students not only theoretical knowledge but also practical applications and inspiration, helping them better understand how the knowledge they acquire is connected to everyday life.
